(Renee Schiavone/Patch) CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Central Islip driver was arrested Thursday after police said he left the scene of a motor vehicle crash that killed a pedestrian. Raynard Willians, 47, faces charges of leaving the scene of an incident with a fatality, police said. At about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, Paul Benjamin, 58, was in the roadway at the intersection of Carleton Avenue and Elmore Street, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV . The car fled the scene southbound on Carleton Avenue.
