The former Islip chief was remembered at the Central Islip rink where he volunteered. Reply CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — The life of a beloved Islip firefighter was celebrated in a memorial roller hockey tournament at St. John of God Roller Hockey rink in Central Islip on Saturday. Billy Moon, who died from injuries at his Brooklyn firehouse drill in December, was a volunteer coach in the league, Newsday reported. The Islip Fire Department, as well as other fire departments, competed in the tournament.
