The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has named West Islip High School as a 2022-2023 School of Excellence. (West Islip School District) WEST ISLIP, NY — West Islip High School was recently recognized for its academic and athletic excellence. The New York State Public High School Athletic Association named West Islip High School as a 2022-2023 School of Excellence, the district said. To earn the School of Excellence Award, 75 percent of a school's varsity teams must qualify and receive the scholar-athlete team award.
